First Year, Will Brown has been doing judo since he was seven.
Earlier this month he took part in the National British Judo Championships, in Nottingham, for the 10-11 age group category.
Will fought very well, ending the day in third place and securing the Bronze Medal.
The result puts Will in the top three judo players of his age and weight in Britain.
Will says:
"I was very nervous before the tournament but I settled down when the fighting started. There were 20 other boys in my category and it was very competitive. I won my first two fights but just missed out on the third meaning that I entered the repercharge. I had to win my last two fights to win the bronze medal. It was great to win a medal at such an important event".
The First Year student now hopes to build on his success and continue to enter national events in the future.
